Thank you for being attentive to my advice for the subject of the Study of Make-Up Artistry. I hope that my knowledge will help you to structure the important skills that are necessary to becoming an Advanced Professional Make-Up Artist. Let me begin with my advice on this subject. There is much to talk about and I am happy to share all of this important information with all of you. All of this information should help you to build a strong understanding of: what Make-Up artistry is and where it can lead you, make up tools, expressing the Artistry of Make-Up in our own way with incorporating our own techniques with practice and a general appreciation to commit to the practice of Make-Up Artistry. Thank you for reading my advice, allow me to begin.

When working on Make-Up Artistry, the main focus that a Student is focusing on is applying Make-Up and or Prosthetic enhancements for customers for the means of Beautifying the customer and enhance their Aesthetics creatively. For someone that is very committed to accepting the responsibility of being an Advanced Professional in this subject, awards can be won and there is a lot of room for the creation of each individual's Artistic talents to be noticed. Licences are required for Professionals in this field to be seen as Professionals and should be Studied for with maximum effort to assure that we are learning the most in the subject. The types of Make-Up Artistry that a Student can choose to pursue are: Fashion, Theatrical, FX, Airbrushing, Bridal, High Definition, General, and Photo shoots. A Student with the expectation to be a Master Make-Up Artist will continue learning as much as possible and maybe learn knowledge in all of the subject areas of Make-Up Artistry. We all choose what we would like to learn and it is to each person to decide what most interests us and learn as much as possible to advance our knowledge. The possibilities for a Make-Up Artist are limitless and the best things to focus on for advancing in this Cosmetology area are: appreciating past processes/products and techniques, trying and creating new techniques, testing make up and tools of all brands and types to learn which will be best for us and practice proper applications to customers and creating a Make-Up kit that features the products that are best suitable for the best quality customer outcome.

Now allow me to discuss the essential tools of being a Professional Make-Up Artist. One of the first things to consider when putting together the perfect Professional Make-Up Kit is choosing from either a Case, Bag or Trolly. Here are some examples: (there are many variations, styles, qualities and it is up to the Student/Professional to decide their best fit)!- *CLICK ON AN IMAGE TO BE TAKEN TO THE ONLINE STORE WHICH SELLS THE PRODUCTS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING ONE FOR YOUR MAKE-UP KIT*

One of the most exciting parts of a Professional Make-Up Artists Kit making process is to choose the perfect Case/Bag or Trolly! It is important to consider the type of organizational compartments and amount of space that is available in each of the possible choices. The choices will feature: trays, compartments, lighting, and stable heights to reduce the need for bending to remove items to begin application. Another consideration that is important for the Student/Professional to adhere to no matter what is the proper sanitizing procedure to keep all items that are placed in the Make-Up Kit free of harmful germs. It is important to sanitize and organize your Make-Up Kit regularly. Organizing will help to keep products in certain places so that you can easily find desired Make-Up products when they are needed; quickness is a virtue for Make-Up Artists, especially once you are desired and everyone wants you to do their Make-Up.

The next subject tool for a Professional Make-Up Artist that I would like to discuss is brushes. In order to apply the Make-Up an Artist must have the proper Brushes to apply the Make-Up with. Each brush is responsible for applying to a particular area of the customer's body and will have a difference in the type of application for the desired look that an Artist will choose to use on the customer. Below is a list of the types of brushes that are essential for every Student and Professional to learn to wield. All brushes will have different outcomes based on quality and type of hairs that are used to make the brush. Let's begin!

*Fact to Appreciate The History of Make-Up Brushes= It is said that the development of Make-Up brushes originates from the Egyptians & started as tools only for the richer societies until Asia & Germany began to produce less expensive versions after Germany developed Mirrors with cheaper parts than the original which was Luxury before the German version was exposed.*

1) Foundation Brush- Smooth & Flawless finish to the face- A technique that is used to perfect and distribute a more even application with this brush is to dip the brush i warm water before applying the product.

2) Fan Brush- This brush will help to blend and clean up excess powder and define cheekbone highlights.

3) Brow Brush- This brush will help to fill the eyebrows- it applies the product evenly to even the thinnest areas because of its designed slant.

4) Powder Brush- This brush is meant to apply powders of all types.

5) Eye Blending Brush- This brush is meant to blend eye shadow along the lids crease.

6) Lip Brush- This brush is meant to apply lip products with the best precision.

7) Kabuki Brush- This brush is meant to apply mineral powders and buff the powder while on the skin with the proper circular motion technique.

8) Angled Eye Brush- This brush is designed to define eyes and is often used with gel liners to create and perfect precise lines.

9) Stippling Brush- This brush is meant for application of light powders, liquids or creams and helps to create an airbrush look.

10) Eye Shadow Brush- This brush is meant as a Professional eye shadow applicator.

11) Angles Brush- This brush is meant to apply blush with a firm application technique.

12) Concealer Brush- This brush is built with a tapered design meant for comfort and stabilization when applying concealer for the best maximum coverage.

13) Flat Brush- This brush is meant to contour the cheeks and apply color beneath the cheek bones.

14) Smudge Brush- This brush is meant to smudge a concentrated area and its most used for smokey eyes.

15) Brow Brush & Comb- This brush has dual use and is great for smoothing down the eyebrow and then removing excess clumps from lashes and brows.

16) Angled Liner Brush- This brush is meant to make precise lines and choose the thickness desired for the customer's look.

17) Blending Sponge/Wedge- This is meant to apply liquid foundation for a flawless and smooth finish.

18) Blending Brush- This is the last brush and is meant for after all makeup has fully been applied. This brush will blend all together and create an airbrush effect.

When choosing brushes, keep in mind each brushes use and quality of the brush that you will need for the proper application of each technique. A qualified Professional of Make-Up Artistry must learn to exhibit the highest level of Professionalism and this means being comfortable with all of the brushes and often learning on multiple brands to apply Make-Up and Prosthetic enhancements to a customer.

The final tool that is necessary for all Professional Make-Up Artists is the Make-Up! Make-Up is essential! Just as brushes, cases, bags and trollys have significant differences when deciding which one to purchase, Make-Up has a wide range of qualities that must be learned and studied to make the right choices for which products you would like to own for the Professional Kit that you will be using on your customers. Keep in mind that as you advance in the Make-Up Artistry Profession, that Make-Up that is less than $10 will not be acceptable once you become educated at an Advanced level. Until then, experimentation of products is highly encouraged and will help you to practice your techniques until you learn Advanced techniques well enough to move into more expensive and desirable products. I will now explain the list of all types of Make-Up so that you can become familiar with the products that as a Professional Make-Up Artist, that you will be required to understand and be familiar with applying to customers.

*Historical Appreciation Facts about Make-Up= Just as the original creation of brushes was from the Egyptians, so was Make-Up. It is important to note that many women put their health at risk and often were killed from the original ingredients that formed the first versions of Make-Up . The deadly toxic substances were tested for the development of Make-Up in the beginning of it's creation. The Government has regulations on what is allowed to be in Make-Up these days & it has surpassed and exceeded it's once deadly outcome to allow people to enjoy the full beauty that it was intended to create without the expense of death.*
